Two days ago, Governor Scott issued Executive Order 17-235 declaring a state of emergency in all 67 counties within the State of Florida. The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated to level one, which is a full-scale, 24-hours-a-day activation. They have since closed schools for Hillsborough for Thursday and Friday to prepare families in the event Irma heads this way.
In an effort to prepare for the weather concerns, we will need to use Clubhouse space to secure items and protect our assets. Therefore, all programs and events for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be cancelled. The Galley Café, Admiral’s Lounge and Lagoon Room will be closed during this time as well. The Fitness Center, Basketball Courts, Tennis Courts and the Admiral Pointe Clubhouse will remain open for use on Friday during normal hours of operation. The Resort Pool and Admiral Point Pool will be closed on Friday at 12pm for preventative maintenance by the chemical company to prepare for power outages. The entire Main Clubhouse and Admiral Pointe Clubhouse will be closed beginning Saturday and will remain closed for the duration of the hurricane. We anticipate reopening on Tuesday. Hopefully by this time, the storm will have passed. If there are further delays in opening due to unknown weather conditions, we will send out additional information assuming power and internet is available.
With the recommendation from Envera to help facilitate preparation, the higher volume of traffic entering and exiting our community and your safety we are opening the gates today and throughout the duration of the storm. Once the storm has passed they will be placed back into normal operation.
