TECO Outage Update

Good afternoon MiraBay Residents, Tampa Electric is aware of the reliability issue affecting MiraBay, and they are it. They have determined that harsh environmental conditions are adversely affecting our equipment, called switchgear. Saltwater vapor from the nearby bay is causing corrosion, which has significantly shortened the life of the equipment. TECO is replacing all the switchgear in MiraBay with new, state-of-the-art equipment. This high-tech equipment is sealed against the elements, to better resist the unique environmental conditions. Amended and Restated Rule Regarding District Waterways and Boating Facilities

Seasons Greetings MiraBay Residents, Please view the updated MiraBay Waterway Policies and Procedures. In addition to the policy, waterway and MiraBay vessel registration enforcement will soon be underway. Please be aware of all “No Wake” signs and that your speed has a negative impact on your neighbors’ docks. The reduced speed is a requirement per Florida laws. Law enforcement patrolling efforts will begin in the near future.
